North East hero Kev Cannon brings an exhilarating nod to Disco House with purpose and passion in the form of ‘The Disco Bump’ EP out now on The Discography Lessons.

Kev Cannon, a stalwart of the North East’s club scene and a champion of house music in all its soulful, jazzy, and underground incarnations, returns with an infectious new release: The Disco Bump EP, out now on The Discography Lessons, the label where music meets mental health.

With over two decades of experience behind the decks and a history of lighting up dance floors from Durham to Cyprus to Ibiza, Cannon’s latest project is more than just a collection of tracks. It’s a love letter to the roots of house music, a celebration of community, and a vehicle for real social impact. As always with The Discography Lessons, 10% of profits go directly to mental health causes, reminding us that the power of music extends far beyond the club.

The EP opens with “People Everywhere”, a track some will recognise from its earlier life as a Tenderness edit on White Label. Here, it’s reimagined and revitalised as a pure disco house floor-filler, a shimmering, feel-good anthem that captures the essence of dancefloor unity and late-night euphoria. The track’s groove-heavy basslines and uplifting vocal snippets radiate warmth, inviting every listener to lose themselves in its classic yet current charm.

Then comes “Frankie Knuckles Knows”, a tribute to the Godfather of House himself. Blending timeless disco textures with Jackin House energy, Cannon crafts a track that’s both reverent and relentlessly danceable. It’s the perfect homage, full of soul, bounce, and that ineffable something that would no doubt earn a nod from Frankie himself.

What makes The Disco Bump EP even more compelling is the ethos behind it. The Discography Lessons isn’t just another boutique label, it’s a movement, using the universal language of music to foster mental well-being and shine a light on issues that are too often left in the dark. With Cannon’s expertly honed sound and a mission that matters, this EP hits with both heart and heft.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of disco-infused house or simply in need of a dose of dancefloor therapy, The Disco Bump EP delivers on all fronts. It’s groove with gravitas, soul with substance and a bump well worth catching.

You can buy the EP here via Traxsource who have just named the EP as part of their “Weekend Weapons” chart.
