Leeds selector Keefy G drops some serious UK Garage beats this March on his Slabs label, think Nice N Ripe/RIP productions.

Keefy G has been making waves in the underground house scene for a while, building a reputation for his impeccable DJ sets and distinctive production style. Before SLABS 004, he had already garnered attention with his contributions to various labels and releases that showcase his deep-rooted understanding of house music. His earlier work, particularly on labels like Dungeon Meat and Chuggin’, displayed his ability to blend heavy grooves with a touch of funk and soul.

Keefy G’s journey into production came after years of absorbing the sounds of pioneers like Tristan and Brawther, whose own sets have shaped much of the scene. His early releases, including SLABS 003 on Dungeon Meat’s Slabs imprint, were well-received for their distinctive approach to bass-heavy, groove-centric house. Each new release saw him refine his sound, while maintaining that raw, dancefloor-driven energy that he’s known for.

This new EP kicks off with Like Dis, a track that encapsulates Keefy G’s ability to create a track that’s as smooth as it is heavy. The deep house groove features crisp, punchy drums, a rolling bassline, and a refined energy that would keep any dancefloor moving. It’s a track that feels solid, focused, and full of the kind of intent that makes Keefy G’s style stand out.

Next up is Wildstyle, a track that brings a sense of grime and grit to the EP. With glitchy percussion and treated vocals that ooze sleaze, Wildstyle brings a raw, experimental touch to the mix. The groove is undeniably strong, but the intricate elements layered throughout elevate it to something unique—showcasing Keefy G’s ability to twist the familiar into something fresh.

The SLABS series, which Keefy G contributes to, has become a notable platform for fresh, underground house cuts. With SLABS 004, he continues to prove his versatility as an artist, further solidifying his place in the deep house community with a release that’s as compelling as it is electrifying. His ability to push boundaries while staying true to his influences gives each new release a unique edge, and SLABS 004 is no exception—marking yet another milestone in his growing discography.
