Our favourite Mexican disco connoisseur Hotmood is back on our office stereo with the catchy ‘Funk Party’.
Born in the 70’s, it’s only natural Hotmood has an affinity with the disco genre. Influenced by break dance and hip hop then later jazz, the Mexican producer naturally found his way to house music. His early releases like ‘Superstar’ really catapulted Hotmood into out orbit and with other releases on the likes of Tropical Disco Records, TheBasement Disco’s, Chopshop, Poetry in Motion, Masterworks and Nomada, you can see why he’s topping the charts of the likes of Traxsource and Beatport.
This new track ‘Funk Party’ is a bulbous bass-led groove with disco female vocals, looping strings and well worked breakdowns that explode with tightly crafted drum drops. This is modern disco done to perfection.
