Gigi Croccante lands on Spanish label theBasement Discos with a three-track Disco excursion this December.
Born and raised in Sicily, Gigi is an Italian that loves the disco, funk House sound. Previous releases on labels like Black Riot, Lisztomania Records and Sundries Digital all have made good headway for Croccante to finish off 2024 in fine form. Arriving at the Valencia-based label theBasement Discos, Gigi joins the family that has saw names like Jansen, Moodtrax, Melon Bomb and HP Vince.
This new EP ‘Chapter Twenty-Seven Edits’ opens with ‘Feelings N Feet’. This French Touch styled disco groover is full of of cool loops and chopped up female vocals. The bass line grooves along nicely underpinned by its brighter, top end electric guitar melody. ‘Just A Notch’ from the off catches your ear with its incessant disco loop, strong kicks and nice use of filters. Throw in a male Vox snippet and this is another fine disco edit. ‘So In Love’ is a deeper, burning styled groove. Nice turntable fx, crispy hats, filtered samples and the detuned vocal all combine to give us an EP standout moment.
