French funkster Dimitri From Paris has dropped a 9 minute boogie remix of ‘Canned Heat’ by UK outfit Jamiroquai.

Didn’t this come out years ago? That was our first thought when we were sent this, but apparently not! Anyway, French funkster Dimitri From Paris who is known for reworking the likes of Björk, New Order, James Brown and the Brand New Heavies is back on his Le Edits imprint with a rework of the 1999 track ‘Canned Heat’ from British funk group Jamiroquai.

This new disco odyssey provides four versions of ‘Canned Heat’ from the short version to dubstrumental to instrumental, there’s a flavour for everyone. The 8:37 main remix is the one for us. Full of soaring strings, bad man bass lines, cool guitars and of Cours Jay Kay’s energetic vocals. With a plethora of edits of ‘Canned Heat’ out there, this has to be straight to the top part of the crop.

The Dimitri From Paris remix package is out on now on Le Edits here.
