LA band Ashrr drop their take on The Romantics’ 1983 hit ‘Talking in Your Sleep’ on 20/20 Vision with Fernando on the remix.
The LA threesome described as a post-punk-soul band Ashrr are about to release a studio LP on Ralph Lawson’s superb 20/20 Vision Recordings. ‘Sunshine Low’ is set to be released on September 16th and its a beautiful juxtaposed sound of indie mixed with balearic beats and dusty late night soul/funk.
The Ashrr take on the track ‘Talking In Your Sleep’ is completely renovated sound that the band have built from ground up. The new bass line is fantastic, haunting synths and a charismatic vocal and they’re onto a winner for us. Balearic don Fernando drops a deep mix first, driving things down low with bulbous bass tones and a strict 4/4 groove with all the original scatterings. The ‘Disco Dub’ is a funky number that excites with arpeggiated synth lines, lively top percussion and that nu-disco panache.
