The lead single ‘Looking Through Balearic Es’ from the hotly received new LP by Warriors of the Dystotheque gets a remix package from Coyote and Simon Sheldon’s Malmö dub.

Jonny Mac‘s collaborative project Warriors of the Dystotheque has been somewhat of a labour of love for the Northern Ireland born producer/DJ. Forged from an online project that gained momentum and finally hit it’s full flow when the gang finally met in Ibiza, the result has been a real imaginative, soul searching collection of music that’s set to the endless beauty that is the Ibizan sunset.

Taken from the July released LP ‘It’s A Beautiful Thing’ (get it here), ‘Looking Through Balearic Es’ is a warm pad-soaked downtempo number with heavy reverberated drum hits and delicate toy-like piano chords juxtaposed by spluttering brass sounds. For our pleasure the WotD lads have now released two remixes of the lead single. First up is the is it balearic? bossed Coyote. We’re big fans of the duo and this remix takes us on a heady, pre sunset journey that had us thinking of early Chris Rea/Dire Straits material when that haunting guitar solo washes over the chugging Balearic beat. Beautiful stuff. Next up is The Freebooter Lounge’s Simon Sheldon. Focusing on percussive magic, fluttering effects and unfettered drum hits, the dub offering embodies the captivating sunset moment. Interwoven with the deep blue sea and powered by the radiance of the sun, this track will set the tone right for any sunset vespers.

The remix package is available now from DSPPR here.
