Berlin-based DJ/producer Shabi makes his debut on Tropical Disco this July with a double-sided release ‘That’s My Bebop / Wild Boogie’.
With a background in jazz and funk as a guitarist, it’s no surprise that Shabi found his way into producing top notch disco music with plenty of soul, funk and boogie involved. With previous releases on the likes of Lisztomania Records, MoodyHouse Recordings, DOBRO and more, the keen eye of Tropical Disco Records has now signed the Berliner up for what is a couple of proper groove thangs.
Tropical Disco Records co-headed by Moodena and Sartorial is a home to many of our favourite tracks. Music released from Jaegerossa, HP Vince, Last Day Of Pompeii and Moodena himself are all regulars in our sets and these new tracks will slip comfortably straight in.
‘That’s My Bebop’ rides silky with jazzy piano lines, cool bluesy type vocal samples and smooth 4/4 drums underpinned by tasty bass lines whilst ‘Wild Boogie’ is a full on disco workout with that fiery guitar lines, slap bass, wailing sax riffs and diva choruses.
