From his forthcoming LP ‘In Waves’, Jamie XX has released another new cut ‘Life’ that features pop princess Robyn.

Jamie Smith since stepping away from The XX has steered himself into a beautiful unmarked territory. Armed with his boundless genre-defying productions, Jamie XX is a name that makes you instantly excited. His new LP ‘In Waves’ has already dropped collaborations with names like Panda Bear, Kelsey Lu, and Robyn and with a release date set for September 20th, the pre-release campaign has hit new heights with this next offering.

‘Life’ is a uptempo, modern disco groove that samples Cerrone’s ‘The House of the Rising Sun’ that was released in 1977. The track is a real solid cut that drives with rousing brass, filtered fx and raw, cutup drum hits. Tinged by electro influences and of course the Swedish pop star Robyn’s vocal brings a commercial flavour to the proceedings.

I made this track pretty fast (for me) and I loved it from day one. When I first heard Robyn’s vocal it was at 6 a.m. after finishing playing at Pacha in Ibiza, it was the perfect moment. Robyn and I have spent time working together and hanging out for some years now, it’s always a joy and always inspiring, I’m so glad and grateful that she is a part of In Waves. Thank you, Robyn, for bringing this track to life! Jamie XX

Supported by the likes of Honey Dijon, Blessed Madonna and pretty much every radio station around the globe, ‘Life’ is set to be one of the summers biggest hits.
