Welsh duo Overmono finally get around to releasing their The Streets ode ‘Turn The Page’ which has been stirring dance floors since 2022.
Brother Tom & Ed Russell aka Overmono have been on our radar since they dropped their first EP ‘Aria I’ back in 2016. Hailing from Wales and having their feet in many genre pots, the lads have been working hard in the studio crafting their sound, working alongside the likes of Joy Orbison and Four Tet. Their debut LP ‘Good Lies’ dropped in 2023 and to rapturous plaudits, described as a mix of ambient, breakbeat, jungle and UK Garage. Not only that their DJ mix for Fabric was first class and well worth checking out. Including names like Plastikman, Surgeon, Artwork and Orca, this really was a representation of the sound of Overman’s influences.
Onto this release. First performed at the 2022 edition of Lost Village, ‘Turn The Page’ has become somewhat of a festival classic, without even been released. From their Coachella debut to their viral Boiler Room and more recent sold-out headline show at London’s Roundhouse, the track has stood out commanding respect through it’s heavy UKG and of course Mike Skinner’s ever impressive rhythms. A must purchase.
‘Turn The Page’ will be released on XL Recordings from July 12th, 2024. Pre order here.
