Maxinne’s new imprint will see the UK DJ/producer create a platform for musical expression for herself and guest artists from across the globe, with the debut release out on 31st May 2024.
From her emergence onto the UK house landscape as a name to know tipped by Mixmag and more to a globally-touring talent of note, South-Coast-born, London-based DJ/producer Maxinne’s journey is entering a fresh chapter for 2024. Blossoming into an artist whose growing groove-driven sound has taken her to a wealth of leading labels in recent years, including HE.SHE.THEY., Knee Deep In Sound, Circus Recordings, Pokerflat, and Saved, the BBC Radio 1 favourite has seen regular support from heavyweights such as Marco Carola, Hot Since 82, Paco Osuna and Yousef while making global appearances spanning Hï Ibiza to CRSSD Festival, Lost Beach Club to Studio 338. However, her next project sees her add a new string to her bow with the launch of her own label, Red Alert.
Sharing the title of her 2021 ten-track debut album, characterised by its ‘boldness and forward-thinking approach’ to sounds spanning the house realm, the imprint will see Maxinne showcase both established and emerging talent alongside her own releases to create a tight-knit community of like-minded creatives – with her own ‘Feel The Bass’ EP out on 31st May 2024.
“Having my own label is something I’ve dreamt of for years, to release music from like-minded artists that share a similar vision and to express myself with more freedom than ever before. This EP was heavily inspired by my early influences of garage music with its chunky basslines and skippy drums. It’s an accumulation of the sounds I’ve loved and listened to for many years, with touches of hip hop and soul coming through with the vocals.” – Maxinne.
Club-driven while delivering uplifting energy, a characteristic of her productions, the two tracks on the EP present the perfect showcase of what to expect from both Maxinne and Red Alert in the months ahead. Title cut ‘Feel The Bass’ is bumping and punchy, merging a slinking groove and sharp hats with vibrant vocal interjections for a snaking peak-time anthem, while ‘Who Dares’ lays the focus on heavy low-ends and skittering vocal murmurs amongst tough kicks for more dancefloor-driven goodness to round out an impressive debut.
Maxinne ‘Feel The Bass’ EP drops via Red Alert Records on 31st May 2024. Pre order here.
