Benjamin Philippe Zulauf drops a stripped-back and atmospheric deep tech/deep techno release via his record label, Hummingbird by BPZ.
Benjamin Philippe Zulauf is an underground producer whose new EP titled, In a Sea of Random Noise, is an exceptional selection of tracks. His hardware production style creates warm music with gritty undertones, and this release is another great example of his underground take on house music.
Hummingbird by BPZ is Benjamin Philippe Zulauf’s record label, and he has chosen to use his own imprint for this release.
“A Light That Never Goes Out” is first on the release, and it opens proceedings with a spine-tingling blend of chunky percussion and gliding synths. It’s a majestic track with soothing atmosphere propelled by the upbeat energy of the underpinning percussion.
“Kai Groove” is the second track, and it’s got an improvised sound with clattering percussion that forms an intense groove. Its dystopian sound is a fusion of different textures, as the aggressive bassline contrasts against the soaring pads.
“Redheads” is the third track, and it’s an excellent way to close out a release due to its shimmering melody and up-tempo percussion. It’s both deep and uplifting with solid percussion delivering feel-good energy.
