Veteran producers DJ Rocca & Lex are back together for another fresh House EP entitled ‘Solid Street’ out on B2 Recordings this March.
Rocca has been active in the music scene since the late 90’s, making moves later as a producer getting involved with labels like Classic, Rekids, Skint, International Feel, Defected, Skint and Paper Recordings. Lex from Athens has become a major player in the Greek House movement, with tracks on Leng Records, Samosa, and Delusions Of Grandeur, now both team up for a heavy hitting EP on Bengoa’s B2 Recordings.
The ‘Solid Street’ EP opens with the title-track which is a loose, funky percussive Disco groover with the all important flute lines and dizzying synth melodies. ‘Solar System’ is a Balearic, downtempo kind of groove with more flutes this time over a 110-ish breakbeat think early MAW type groove. ‘Rose Tree’ is a full blown jam session type of splendid affair. Jamming bass guitars, flute thrills, hand played percussive hits juxtaposed by programmed machine beats and galactic synth whirls, this is a winner.
