It’s been a long time coming but finally Julio Bashmore is back with new music. ‘Sprungboard’ out on Classic Music Company this February.
Julio Bashmore was raised on the bass-heavy frequencies of Bristol, forward-thinking labels and tastemakers have been firm supporters of his output since his self-titled 2009 EP on Claude Von Stroke’s highly influential Dirtybird, while releases such as ‘Au Seve’ and ‘Battle For Middle You’ became cult classics of the 2010s. Taking a musical hiatus since his celebrated 2015 LP Knockin’ Boots, he re-emerged with ‘Bubblin’ on Local Action in 2023.

For his latest release ‘Sprungboard’, on Luke Solomon’s revered London imprint, Bashmore carefully selects percussive elements that tease rhythmic play before noise manipulation comes to the fore to reveal an irresistible groove.
