Mysterious figures behind this track but alas it’s the first release of PVC Records that’s all we know, ‘Yeke Yeke’ with a Disco vibe.
Released in 1987, “Yé ké yé ké” was an international hit for Guinean Artis Mory Kanté. Later remixed by German duo Hardfloor, the track took on it’s second wind and became a world over dance floor hit. Now in 2024, the track gets the edit treatment from the unnamed artists and released on new label PVC Records.
The edit is slick percussive groove with infused energy through tight drum lines, clever vocal chops and of course that wonderful synth lead that this time is doubled with brass chords and electric guitar riffs. A proper uplifting number that’s always a pleasure to hear.
