Italian producer Phill Prince delivers two cracking classic House grooves that make up the ‘Pleasure Playground’ EP on UK label Ba Dum Tish.

A true craftsman behind the decks and in the studio, Phill Prince has been instrumental in shaping Italy’s house music landscape over the past five years most notably during his evolution at the legendary Il Muretto in Venice. It was there that his signature sound an alchemy of rolling house grooves and deep, minimal textures began catching fire, quickly earning him spots at clubbing institutions across Europe.

From the industrial intensity of E1 London to the sun-soaked vibes of Destino Ibiza, and the high-energy floors of Studio69 Berlin and Liquid Room Edinburgh, Phill’s name has become synonymous with quality underground energy. His productions, inspired by the timeless funk of ’80s and ’90s disco-pop and fueled by a forward-thinking club sensibility, have landed on some of the scene’s most respected imprints CUFF, What NxT, Be One Limited, Issues, and Purism, to name a few. With heavyweight support from titans like Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, and Joseph Capriati, his trajectory continues to rise.

Now based in Milan and holding a residency with Plgrn, Phill is not only energizing dancefloors but also curating them. His artistic direction of the new label Peletrax signals a deeper vision, one that’s already drawing attention with planned releases on Nervous Records, Inermu, Blind Vision, and beyond. Whether behind the booth or steering the next wave of underground talent, Phill Prince is a name you’ll be hearing a lot more of if you haven’t already.

This new release on UK label Ba Dum Tish who have released music from the likes of Tiago Walter, Christian Jay, Harry Wills and many more, was set for release April 24th, 2025 via Bandcamp but on Juno it came out November 26th, 2024, so we’re not sure on how long it’s actually been out but alas it’s new to us so what the hell!

The first track is the title-track, ‘Pleasure Playground’. A rolling simple but effective bass line over clear and crisp 4/4 drums with chopped up Rap type vocals give the track a nice edgy, classic house vibe. Later a more prominent male vocal comes to the forefront joined by deep organ chords, the addition of variations to the tops and percussions sounds really drive an infectious, interesting groove that really caught our attention. ‘Elegancia Retro’ is the next track. This swirly, deep-grooving House track captures more layers and textures than the previous track. String bass lines, trios of female Vox snippets harmonise perfectly over scattered synth notes and cool animated effects. Another strong groove.
