Frolicking in the crossover world are Simon Dunmore’s young lads aka Dunmore Brothers with this groovy edit of Snoop Dogg & Nate Dogg’s ‘Lay Low’.

The expectation of the Dunmore lads was always going to be high. Their father was behind the rise of one of the world’s commercially successful house labels in Defected but himself a skilled selector who had fingers firmly planted in soul/funk/disco and house pies.

Alas we followed Dunmore Brothers with a keen eye in their beginning as a duo but honestly we lost interest when they became wrapped up in the South African house sound, particularly Louie who founded the Sondela Recordings label. The label was nominated for Breakthrough Label by DJ Mag in 2022 and we’re sure has a massive following, but alas not really our bag.

But, this new Buzz Cutz label has turned our gaze back to the brothers. With edits of Frankie Knuckles ‘Baby Wants To Ride’ and Little Simz’s ‘Point And Kill’ so far, this new edit of the 2001 track ‘Lay Low’ by Snoop Dogg and featured Nate Dogg. Produced by Dr. Dre, the track now has a new lease of life that has caught the attention of the likes of Terry Farley.

This driving House edit is a nice bass-led roller full of bottom end whilst snoop’s vocals are featured but not overly as is Nate Dogg’s soulful vocal.  Fitting the upcoming summer venues, this peak time house/tech house will no doubt be a winner.

No official release date but the other cuts so far have been free downloads, so keep checking back on the Dunmore Brothers Soundcloud page here.
