Leeds-based artist Royal Intention drops two silky garage type groovers on the ‘Come On Over’ EP.

This may be a quick review. We have no idea who Royal Intention is, we know he is from Leeds, apart from that, who knows. Sporting the genres House, UKG and Deep House on his Instagram bio, we can trace tracks back to the beginning of 2024. Labels like Strictly Flava, Moiss Music Black and Wanda have all got in early to release tracks from Royal Intention and now to kickstart his 2025 campaign we have this new double-sided release.

‘Come On Over’ is a deep US house sound that channels the like of Kerri Chandler, Basement Boys and then adds some Grant Nelson flavour. Skippy drums, plunging chords and beautiful male and female vocals all come together to give us a real garage-inspired treat.

‘Makes Me Feel Alive’ is a straight up Nice N Ripe sounding affair. Modern UKG with silky vocals that sound like Jessie Ware. A more peak time groover, this one hinges on nice chord progressions and swinging percussion. Bass line could of been a bit higher in the mix for us, but nether less a great groove.

The ‘Come On Over’ EP is out now, you can hear it here.
