Riva Starr releases ‘Chasing Thrills’ this January from his ‘Keep Me On The Dancefloor’ album.
The title-track was the first release from ‘Keep Me On The Dancefloor’ and now the follow up is revealed to be ‘Chasing Thrills’. Featuring Harry Stone who seemingly may feature often on the LP, Riva Starr has tried to create timeless music that will appeal to people in a decades time. Moving from his usual hard hitting, loopy House grooves, Riva has stepped into a more crossover, pleasing sound that will suit both radio and club play (through a host of remixes).
I don’t have big commercial singles; instead, I have what I believe are timeless songs created with incredibly talented musicians. My goal is for these tracks to stand the test of time and be discovered by more people as the years go by. Riva Starr
‘Chasing Thrills’ is a big bass-led groove with loose percussive hits, airy keyboard melodies from Dario Bassolino. The vocal is not for us, Harry Stone has that sort of voice that sounds pleasant at first, but it really lacks for us any real oomph, it’s pleasant but yeah for us it’s just alright. The magic of ‘Chasing Thrills’ is definitely from the low-slung bass grooves which couple perfectly with brass-like melodies and cool string samples. Luckily for us, Riva has got a dub up his sleeve we’ve received.
‘Chasing Thrills’ is out January 16th, 2025. Pre order here.
