London-based The Trip delivers four excitable House grooves that have that old school vibe down to t.
A new name to us here at KOTT, The Trip is a London-based producer/DJ who is behind the Tessellate parties in the capital as well as running the label by the same name.
This new EP ‘Spiritually Tessellate’ is four tracks of unadulterated club grooves. Steeped in the heady days of 90’s sounds, the EP opens with ‘Funky Q Nice’, a larger than life peak time driver filled with furious, pumping 4/4 grooves, garage spat lyrics and saw synth leads littered with brass stabs. ‘Do You Feel’ adds a 90’s diva vocal to the mix, underpinned by low rumbling bass lines and electric guitar loops. ‘Delightful Funk’ is a classic organ house driven groove with electric leads and nice female ad-libs. Throw in a cheeky sample breakdown and this is another belter. ‘Original Sound’ rounds off the EP with more 90’s vibes. Big synths, slick drums and catchy vocal chops.
