We’re delighted to get the first full play of ‘Darlin’ thats part of Philippa’s new EP ‘Blue Skies’, out soon on Fred Everything’s Lazy Day Recordings.

The phrase good things come to those who wait sits perfectly in the lap of New Zealander artist Philippa. A DJ for over two decades and a producer for over a decade too, the now Berliner is steadily making her way to the forefront of certainly our taste pool. With releases on Sloth Boogie, Razor n Tape, Deeppa and Jimpster’s Freerange, Philippa is creatively curating jazz infused House grooves at will, and this new EP is another very tasteful addition.

The ‘Blue Skies’ EP drops on Fred Everything’s Lazy Day Recordings on November 22nd, and were pleased to report its a beautiful releases. The track we’re focusing on today is ‘Darlin’. Oozing jazz styled drum brushes and soft palatable kicks, the improvised jazz piano melodies ride the melodic grand piano chords whilst dramatic strings sweep across this beautiful piece of emotive music. When the soulful female vocal enters, thats us bought, lock, stock and barrel. Superb stuff.

The ‘Blue Skies’ EP is out on Lazy Days from Nov 22nd, 2024. Get it here.
