NY House Music Producer/DJ Ralph Session has dropped his ‘For The House Heads’ EP on Quintessentials.
Now based out of Barcelona, Ralph Session is an experienced artist with releases previously on the likes of Freerange, Snatch!, Local Talk and Razor N Tape. His love of that twisted, grooving New York House sound has put Session in good stead and the Half Assed Records boss is now set to join Quintessentials with this new EP.
‘I Know You Can’ is a kinetically charged, deep groove with rolling cavernous bass tones, skipping top percussion and layers of breathy key melodies. The female vocal is serene, this is the good stuff. ‘Take Me Higher’ takes a momentary uplifting twist with simple lead melodies juxtaposed by gravelly, bulbous bass tones and filtered, echoed synths. ‘House Family’ rounds off the EP with a very dub like groove fresh from a return to the 90’s sound of NYC.
