To celebrate 21 years of 3am Recordings, label head Al Bradley has put together the three-track EP ‘Precinct’ for a June release.
A staunch advocate of quality underground house with minimal and deep nuances, 3am Recordings was founded in the industrial city of Manchester before relocating to another northern city, Leeds. The label has been home to many a key player including names like Flash Atkins, Neil Bainbridge, Carlo Gambino, Crispin J Glover and Loop Theory.
Now as it heads into its 21st year, the label has put together a few special releases to mark the occasion. First up is label head Al Bradley and his ‘Precinct’ EP.
Charcoal Silhouette On Blue’ is a deeper-vibed number, with an alternate mid-section using a sample from an old 80s soul track (10 points for anyone who can name it….), this has sounded excellent at 3am gigs in recent months, so we hope you dig it too!
Moving on to Panoramic Windows Looking Out Across Your Soul, this is a tougher bass-led club groove, with a chunky bassline and what can probably be described as a ‘mad’ riff which comes in at the break.
Closing the EP is Sacred Geometrics, a track built around delayed kicks, deep chord stabs and a spacey delayed riff, over tough percussion.
The ‘Precinct’ EP will be released on June 17th, 2024. Get it here.
