JKriv’s rework of ‘Bukom Mashie’ gets a new lease of life on Razor N Tape in the form a new 7″ with a new ‘Acid Dub’ included.
Hold on to your funky hats for this one as Brooklyn-based funkster JKriv see’s a much sought after repackaging of his 8 year old rework of Oscar Sulley & The Uhuru Dance Band’s ‘Bukom Mashie’. The West African 70’s jam was turned into a real funk house weapon and now for 2024 we have a cool 7″ repress to look forward too.
JKriv has appeared on labels like Defected, Glitterbox, Razor N Tape, Heist Recordings and Favorite Records over a two decade plus career that has coupled with a successful DJ career that showcases his deep and diverse taste, weaving eclectic disco, house, and offbeat selections.
‘Bukom Mashie’ is an infectious brass-fuelled weapon with plenty of funk. The African flavour is strong and JKriv deals a 4/4 drum arrangement that compliments the original perfectly. On this new repackaging we see the addition of ‘Acid Dub’ that features 303 acid lines and a beautiful flute arrangement from Domenica (of Underground System).
