Legendary label Paper Recordings have enlisted David Harks & Max Essa for an EP of Balearic bliss with ‘Lobster Boys’ leading the package.

Journeymen producers Max Essa & David Harks have been releasing music for quite some time. David has appeared on labels like Leng, Soundcolours, Splinter, Eskimo Recordings, Boogie Angst, Kitsuné Records, Paper Recordings, Sunday Best, EMI Harvest (Pink Floyd), Wh0 Plays, and now his own varied imprint Amity. Whilst Max has appeared on labels like Is It Balearic? Bear Funk, Nang Records, Music For Dreams and Hell Yeah Recordings.

Paper Recordings has been a main player in the UK electronic scene since 1994, known to be a serious purveyor of deep house, disco, Balearic and leftfield. Crazy Penis, Crispin J. Glover, Salt City Orchestra and many more have all appeared on this iconic Northern stronghold.

This particular release comes from the July 10th EP ‘The Clean Trip’. ‘Lobster Boys’ is a slow burning Balearic nod. With chugging drum beats, low-slung bass lines and a cool guitar melody whilst the vocal is easy refrain coupled with an easy synth line to bring the track home.

“Lobster Boys leans on a call to all the curious minds wandering the alternative attending”. Max & David explain.
