Greek producer/Dj Detlef lands on Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Muzik this week with the tech house pumper ‘MoFo’ with Big Miz on the remix.
Detlef is one of the names that shone bright in the resurgence of underground house back in the 2010 era. Releasing music on labels like Hot Creations, Solid Grooves and Moon Harbour and earning support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Marco Carola and Pete Tong, Detlef has become a firm favourite with clubbers thanks to his vibrant mixes and dynamic live sets.
Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Muzik continues to produce quality club-ready House music, popular with the moving and grooving youthful dance floors of Manchester and the world over. His label has gone from strength to strength with not only it’s official releases but it’s edit series that always catches our ear.
This new release ‘MoFo’ always grabs our attention so we’re glad to finally see it get a release. Low slung, bubbling bass lines, filters stabs and that incessant ‘motherfucker’ chant gives the groove great energy and the inclusion of a disco-esque refrain make the track a superb dance floor tool. Although an instrumental would have been a cool addition. Big Miz‘s remix is a touch more laid back, still at at hefty 130 BPM, the groove is more deeper, more refrained than the party starter original mix. Probably our favourite of the two.
