Italian label Flexi Cuts celebrate 40 years with three taster samplers, the first one is out late May and crossed Italo, House and Latin flavours.
Independent label and store Flexi Cuts have been ever impressive over the last few years. We’ve covered a few of their releases and we have to say, we dig their releases. Names like Daughters & Sons, Club Soda, Gratts and The Mechanical Man have all released via Flexi Cuts and now to celebrate 40 years of the store and labels existence, their putting out 3 (maybe 4) limited edition vinyls of some of their choice moments.
Names like Italys’ DJ Rocca, electronic ensemble Club Soda, Greek producer Lex Athens, Japan-based multi-instrumentalist Hiroyuki Kato and Neapolitan producer The Mechanical Man all deliver on this release. Our picks go to Club Soda’s sultry warm groove ‘The Bottle’ that just oozes deep, chasmic emotion with its plunging bass lines, delicate synth lines and soulful vocal ad-libs. The Mechanical Man’s ‘Uncle Swing’ is a jazzy, funk groove that has that cool loose swing draped with electronic glitches and blips.
The release is set for just 200 copies so don’t sleep on this one. Pre order here. Released May 21st, 2024.
