Manhattan Project returns to his Club Unite label with the wonderful 90’s House sounding ‘Work It!’ EP.
Andreas Marek’s alter ego Manhattan Project is back with a Chicago inspired EP that is full of that old school vibe. Also known as Mellow Man, Marek is a veteran of the house scene with releases on labels like Peppermint Jam, Montreux Recordings and his own Club U Nite. The German label is over thirty releases deep and this new EP ‘Work It!’ is more class for the crates.
‘Work It!’ is a chugging, Chicago house sound with plunging organ chords, catchy vocal hooks and low-slung bass lines. ‘This Luv You’re Giving Me’ is a gospel flavoured deep house sound that is hella flavoursome. Chugging, jack edged beats, sax riffs, cavernous bass lines and delicate synth keys all join to tether to make a wonderful track. ‘Bring It Back’ is a reminiscent deep groove that had us thinking of another ear worm we’ll leave you to think of. ‘What Does That Make You Feel?’ closes the EP with it’s Balearic early 90’s ambient house sound.
