Glaswegian don Big Miz has returned to Shall Not Fade with the ‘Friends FM’ EP joining with friends Hayley Zalassi, Bessa and Van Damn.
Chris McFarlane, better known as Big Miz is one of the most exciting talents erupting out of the UK in recent times. Championed by Radio 1, a famed Boiler Room set and music on labels like Basement Jams, AUS Music, &Friends and Patty Topping’s Trick have all gave Miz a booster that he has ridden to the heady heights he’s at these days.
The Miz Records boss returns to Shall Not Fade with a four-track EP ‘Friends FM’. On the A Side Bessa joins the EP for two tracks. ‘It Just Goes’ and ‘Marvellous’. Both tracks are sumptuous House grooves with twisting bass lines, intriguing synth lines and garage-inspired vox snippets. Fellow Glasgow artist Hayley Zalassi gets in on ‘Too Much Nature’, a joyful, bubbling House cut with old school synth vibes and layers of effects and one shots. Radio 1 favourite Van Damn is the last Scottish connection Miz is bringing to the release. ‘So In Love’ is a dizzying, arpeggiated synth tune that sounds so wide, vast, ethereal in sounds as it explodes into a futuristic House sound that is just pure magic.
