Cafe Del Mar resident Ken Fan joins forces with another of the Balearic hotspots family members Digby Jones for the beam of light that is ‘Starseed’.
Something of an amalgamation of souls on this Balearic downtempo score. ‘British-born, Hong Kong Balearic Brummie’ Ken Fan is a name most of our readers will be familiar with. This pusher of cosmic love is responsible for putting the sun to bed at Café Del Mar throughout the summer months in Ibiza, then he spreads his superterrestrial vibes to the likes of Asia/Australia in the winter months. His discography impressively reads releases on labels like Nu Northern Soul, Music For Dreams and Is It Balearic as well as upcoming projects appearing on Blank & Jones’ well thought of ‘Milchbar’ series.
Digby Jones is a Londoner with a vast romance with music. With over 20 years history in writing, producing and scoring music in films, tv shows and video games, Jones has been prolific in releasing quality music, setting up Sublime Music back in 2004 he has licensed music to Cafe Del Mar, Armada, Ministry of Sound and Sony.
This new track ‘Starseed’ is an evocative piece with ethereal chords that are lit up by delicate piano melodies and juxtaposed hand claps and latin percussive strikes. Evoking the sunset in your gaze, the sea gently lapping on the shore, everything about this track is what makes people fall in love with the hazy, summer evenings at the famous little Sant Antoni sunset temple.
Don’t be fooled that the track is for clubbers/dancers/DJ’s, this is music for the soul, it’s mood music, healing and spiritual. Don’t we all need some of this in our lives?
