Nick Curly offers up the two-track ‘Come Right Back’ EP via his and Marc Scholl’s Cécille Records at the end of March.
Mannheim, Germany’s Nick Curly has been at the forefront of the underground House scene for two decades now, initially making his mark with his and Gorge’s 8bit imprint which is notably known for shaping the distinctive sound of Mannheim’s House Music output. Curly has since gone on to release on the likes of Knee Deep In Sound, Truesoul, Defected, Cocoon and of course Cécille where he makes a welcome return here with this new material.
Title cut ‘Come Right Back’ leads and sees Nick lay down his signature swinging drum groove intertwined with a filtered disco loop, bumpy bass line and choppy stab sequences to create a dance floor focused six and a half minute workout.
‘Arkum’ then shifts into deeper and darked realms, merging organic percussion and gritty bass stabs with tension building strings and spoken word vocals chops to once again create a loop driven, subtly unfurling peak time tool.
The ‘Come Right Back’ EP is out on Cécille Records, pre order here.
