European producer/DJ The Checkup returns to Riva Starr’s Snatch! Records with the ‘Keep On Rockin’ EP.
Born in France, raised in Belgium, lived in the UK and the USA, The Checkup is a true definition of well travelled. His music is a testament to this, taking the best of European House music and gritting the sound with the American tough grooves, his sound is both silky smooth and club ready.
As a producer he’s touched labels like Large Music, Peppermint Jam, Street King, Toolroom, Nervous Records, and Simma Black and for good reason. Tracks like ‘House Music Baby’ and ‘Everybody’ have proved big hits for us and really drive dance floors in peak times. This brings us too this love affair between Riva and The Checkup, both known for their insatiable thirst to make dance floors move and following on from the ‘Jazz And Groove’ EP back in August 23′ with DJ Merci, Starr has now signed this new EP ‘Keep On Rockin’ from The Checkup.
‘Let’s Talk’ opens the release with its deep, infectious groove with a cool spoken vocal and twisted bass lines wrapped up around fiery top percussion and plunging organ chords. ‘Keep On Rockin’ takes the energy up a notch with its latin percussive lead and hissing hat patterns. Deep slung bass lines coupled with rousing jazz-licked piano lines and this ones a winner. ‘Get Movin’ is a chugging, tough House groove with a diva vocal, smokey pad chords and more bubbling bass lines.
With support already from Laurent Garnier, Groove Armada, Tsha, Archie Hamilton, DJ Bone and Dam Swindle, this one is set to score big.
