American deep house aficionado Darand Land returns to Pulp with four boundless cuts of hefty mood offerings.

New York producer Darand Land is a name revered in the deep house circuit. Since the turn of the century Darand has been prolific in the release of tracks, labels like Deep4Life, Downbeat and Urban Imagery have all found quality and attractiveness in Land’s sound as have Pulp who previously released Darnad’s 2013 EP ‘Love’s Cosmos’.

This new EP is four deep, swollen numbers with loads of atmospheric textures, delicate piano lines and that classic bassline tones. “Never Far From Jazz’ is a simple bass-led groove that ventures into a moody, enigmatic scenario once the piano notes begin to breathe. ‘Journey For The Ready’ is a more direct deep house cut, sturdy kicks, slight note shifts in the pads and a repetitive lead organ make this proper deep goodness. ‘Formative Funk’ brings the mood up a notch with this quirky, glitched groove that stays in the deep realm just with an added slice of funk. ‘Remember The Violets’ takes us full circle and offers a ride into capacious lands.

‘The Vermillion Room’ is out now on Pulp, buy it here.
