Londoner Max Dean is hot stuff right now and this new EP ‘In You’ cements the statement especially with wAFF on the remix.
The NeXup label head Max Dean is starting 2024 in fine form. Fresh from a slew of releases on labels like East End Dubs’ Eastenderz, Max Chapman’s Resonance Records, Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Muzik, Solid Grooves and Repopulate Mars, the young London-born producer is climbing the UK scene ladder with pace.
Inspired by the likes of Archie Hamilton, Jamie Jones and East End Dubs, Max’s sound is hot right now. Sleek, rolling grooves with tech nuances but underpinned by groove. This new EP on Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two is a slick modern piece of House music. Opening with ‘In You’ which is a bass-led groove monster with cool synth chords, bulbous bass tones and a ghostly vocal that oozes appeal. The wAFF remix is a more straight up groove with the bass taking centre stage whilst wAFF introduces some more percussive strikes and cuts up the vocal. ‘Inside’ is a nod to the classic American House sound of the 90’s. The organ is there, cowbells and some old school synth leads. ‘Free NRG’ is a rave-esque dare we say nu-tech sounding groove with a heads down appeal.
The ‘In You’ EP is out on Four Thirty Two from 26/01/24 pre-save here.
