Dutch producer Michel de Hey lands on Riva Starr’s Snatch! Records with two rolling, groove-laden tracks that are bolstered by a remix from St. David.
With over thirty years experience in electronic music, Michel de Hey has been celebrated in many countries from Spain to Japan to Germany. Known for his techno roots, de Hey also lends his hand to club-ready House music, jeeping things groovy with low-slung bass lines and loopy samples. Appearing on labels like Ovum, Rejected, CUFF and Spinnin’ Deep, now is the time to join Riva and officiate himself into the Snatch! family.
The ‘Let’s Make Love’ EP opens with the title-track which is an old school Detroit vibe reminiscent to early Terrence Parker styles. Rolling string bass lines, dancing chords and catchy ad-lib vocal chops shine amongst glittering pads and nice percussive rhythms. ‘Fertist’ is a percussive-led House pumper that opens up into an almost techno banger with growling leads, mechanical-sounding drums and warbled Vox snippets. Italian born producer St. David jacks ‘Let’s Make Love’ deep into darker, groovier territory with loads of cool fx, echoed leads and of course giving us a full sniff of that bulbous bass line.
The ‘Let’s Make Love’ EP is out on Snatch! Records from 1st February, 2024. Pre order here.
