Swiss House label Vibes and Grooves have readied a quality EP this February from a collaborative effort between DFRA and Shaka.
Buenos Aires producer DFRA aka Diego Ruiz has been releasing solid House cuts for nearly a decade now. Labels like Four Framed, Silver Walker and a label we’ve recently covered MATE Records are just some of the outlets Ruiz has landed on. With another alias The 89 Project he’s a part of, Diego is constantly searching for beat perfection. This new EP consists of four tracks, two from DFRA’s camp and two from Vibes and Grooves label head Shaka. The Basel-based producer/DJ has a wealth of experience as a DJ, starting out in the last 80’s and continuing throughout the decades. In 2019 he launched Vibes and Grooves as an output for his own music as well as like minded artists. The Swiss producer has also released on labels like Local Talk, Apparel Music and Lisztomania Records.
This New EP opens with The 89 Project’s ‘Supernatural’ which is a jazzy, grooving House track with a nice sax melody, cool spoken poet-like vocal and nice Hammond organ riffs. DFRA’s ‘Indifference’ is another jazz-infused groove that implements the dizzying organ lines into a slick disco-infused drum arrangement. Shaka’s ‘Sacred Nightfall’ the dub mix is next. Warm synth melodies and cool flute lines display themselves over deep, rhythmic percussive -led drum lines. ‘Between Calm and Storm’ rounds off the EP with its excitable textures, mainly procured through futuristic organ leads and cosmically created boogie lines.
The ‘Collab Grooves Part 1’ is out on Vibes and Grooves from February 23rd, 2024. Pre order here.
