Four luxury deep House cuts make up the ‘Anthology’ EP from Chassé and Javonntte drop on Mate Spain this January.

From Belgium to Detroit, Spanish label Mate has curated an EP of true artistic quality in the way of this soon to be released EP ‘Anthology’.  Based in Liege, Belgium, duo Chassé have been releasing a slew of quality releases on labels like Robsoul, Exploited and Big Bait Records. Javonntte is probably one of our most underrated talents in the scene right now. The Detroit native whose real name is Javonntte Garrett is a multi-talented producer, musician, vocalist and DJ and once was a backing dancer for Aretha Franklin. With collaborations with the late Amp Fiddler, Blake Baxter and Andres, you can see the company this guy keeps is right up there.

The EP opens with Chassé’s ‘Voila’ a chunky, emotive deep House piece that features fantastical bass lines, shimmering high strings, effect-swirling vocal chops and cool sax melodies. There next track is ‘Deep Link’. This full ode to jazz is supported by lose piano lines, swirling sax freestyles and robotic low-slung bass tones. We loved this one! Javonntte is next with his two tracks. ‘Sunday Brunch Cocktail’ is a proper Moog throw down with the Detroit native playing his heart out via the keys. A proper ear worm that shows a great deal of musicianship. ‘When Music Feels’ is a classic Deep House vibe with a special vocal from Javonntte’s own sister. Lovely drum work on this and has that classic 90’s feel similar to the likes of Mood II Swing etc.

The ‘Anthology’ EP drops on Mate Spain from January 22nd, 2024. Pre order here.
