Italian producer Katzuma wrings the last drops of summer out of us with the ‘Santorini’ EP on Balearia Italy.
We all could do with a little winter sun and this new four-track release from Italian Katzuma is here to give us what we need! With a career over a couple of decades, Katzuma has been prolific in his love for jazz funk disco. His ‘Moonbooty’ LP is fabulous as was his ‘Life In The City’ EP on Kinjo Music.
This new release ‘Santorini’ is the tenth release of Balearia Italy and see’s Katzuma join the likes of Federico Grazziottin aka DJ Fede. The opening track is a warm, sensual combination of delicate synth leads, pulsing pads, cool Rhodes keys and aloof percussive rhythms. ‘Puerto Ayora’ is an out right jazz affair with fiery synth solos underpinned by ascending cosmic organs and otherworldly effects. Next is the Al Kent remix of ‘Santorini’. As expected Al brings his A Game on this one, shifting the tempo up a notch with cool drum arrangements and nice pedal notes. ‘Santa Cruz’ rounds off the EP with a full jazzy house groove that will have terraces on their feet in the coming months.
