German-based funksters Gome dropped their first release ‘Tell Me’ on their new imprint Snackwax last week, and is it fire!
Hamburg-based producers Gome have turned the heads of labels like Toy Tonics and Basement Discos and since 2022 the duo have been firing on all cylinders. Their raw energy and machine loving productions have found them landing on dance floors across the globe, Mexico City, Berlin, Tbilisi, London, Milan and Rome to name but a few.
This new release is the debut of their new imprint Snackwax and have they started with a bang. ‘Tell Me’ is a French filtered type affair with filtered disco loops, hefty kicks and slick percussion. When the filter tops out where in a full groove heaven, the female vocal sample had us scratching our heads, we know it, but what the hell is it!!?? Barbara Streisand we’ve settled on, but we could be wrong. ‘Get My Love’ is a perfect Dj Sneak sounding sneaky disco affair. Maddening loops, tight drums and big breakdowns all combine to really create an effective, striking number.
