The Shapeshifters unveils the deluxe edition of studio album ‘Let Loose’ on Glitterbox.
Described by Simon Marlin himself as a “career milestone”, Let Loose Deluxe bolsters the original LP by The Shapeshifters with remixes from fellow industry titans from all corners of the globe.
The long-awaited 2022 release saw Simon Marlin work with luminaries from the world of disco, house and soul like Billy Porter, Joss Stone, Kimberly Davis and Teni Tinks, and the album succeeded in pushing The Shapeshifters sonic aesthetic, retaining the brassy, string flourishes and colourful instrumentation that we have come to expect.

The Let Loose Album Sampler, available to listen now, features two remixes from fellow Glitterbox mainstays. First up, Belgian disco producer Aeroplane remixes ‘Giving Me Something Better’ featuring Obi Franky, mixing rhythmic synth goodness into the funk-laden OG. Next, Brighton-based soul house expert Sophie Lloyd remixes Simon’s Talking Heads cover ‘Slippery People’, upping the tempo for the late disco nights on the light-up dancefloor.
For the full release on 24 November, Let Loose Deluxe features fresh takes on the original album tracks from the two previously mentioned plus David Penn, Dimitri from Paris, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Ray Mang, Dr Packer, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Moplen, and Marlin himself.
The package also features a special, unheard remix of the 2005 Shapeshifters classic ‘Back To Basics’ from bonafide American legend and late Defected House Master Frankie Knuckles.
After an incredible showing at major house music events and festivals globally throughout the entirety of 2023, The Shapeshifters has never been more equipped for worldwide domination. The release of Let Loose Deluxe, full to the brim with globally revered A-list artists, will serve as a seminal moment in The Shapeshifters history.
